Licensed Architect – Government & Secure Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Licensed Architect to join our Toronto‑based architecture and design firm. The role focuses on technical delivery, quality assurance, and compliance for secure government and institutional projects. After an initial year on‑site, the position transitions to a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Perform QA/QC reviews throughout all project phases
• Ensure design compliance with client standards, building codes, and project requirements
• Coordinate with internal project teams, consultants, and stakeholders
• Provide technical guidance and architectural expertise
• Prepare and manage project documentation and reports
• Participate in site reviews as required
• Support the successful delivery of complex government projects
• Maintain client liaison throughout project lifecycle

Required profile

• Licensed Architect registered with the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA)
• Approximately 7 years of architectural experience
• Extensive experience delivering Canadian government, institutional, or public‑sector projects
• Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, National Building Code of Canada, and applicable municipal regulations
• Proven expertise in QA/QC, technical reviews, drawing package coordination, and design compliance
• Strong skills with Revit
• Understanding of construction methods and building technology
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Eligibility to obtain a Government of Canada Level II Security Clearance and no travel to excluded countries in the past 10 years
