About the role
A Page is responsible for sorting and shelving books and other library materials, as well as performing shelf reads to ensure items are correctly placed.
Key responsibilities
- Sort books and other library materials
- Shelve books and other library materials
- Conduct shelf reads
- Pack and unpack items
- Perform ancillary duties such as photocopying, straightening and tidying shelves, tables and lounges
- Process and repair library materials, including typing, taping, labelling, recovering books, cleaning and inspecting audiovisual equipment
Required profile
- Minimum age of 14 years
- Understanding of public service philosophy and human‑rights legislation
- Ability to read English and discriminate between numbers
- Strong attention to fine detail and ability to follow instructions independently
- Friendly and courteous manner
