Letter Carrier Supervisor – Sorel

About the role

The Letter Carrier Supervisor leads a team of letter carriers, mail service couriers and RSMCs at a Canada Post station in Sorel. The role ensures that mail relay bundles are handled and delivered according to corporate standards while overseeing fund administration and safety practices.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct and inspect daily operations to guarantee efficient sorting, routing and delivery of mail.
• Schedule staff, arrange relief coverage and authorize overtime as needed.
• Measure delivery distances, propose route adjustments and collaborate with Route Measurement Officers.
• Assess relay bundle provisions and recommend changes to minimise conveyance costs.
• Coach, train and resolve issues for delivery employees, consulting Labour Relations or union representatives when required.
• Promote workplace safety, implement health programs and take corrective action on unsafe conditions.
• Enter employee, volume and addressing data into corporate systems and generate performance reports.
• Liaise with other supervisors to coordinate operations and resolve operational problems.
• Report building and equipment repairs to the manager.

Required profile

• Permanent full‑time availability with a preference for local candidates.
• Fluency in French (essential) and ability to work in a bilingual environment.
• Experience supervising delivery staff or similar operational teams.
• Strong knowledge of postal regulations, safety standards and collective agreements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using corporate data entry systems for employee and volume information.
• Ability to generate and interpret operational performance reports.
