Legal Counsel

About the role

ALDO Group is seeking a curious, business‑mindset Legal Counsel to join its international legal team. This early‑career position offers the chance to work across Canada and the U.S., providing practical legal advice to a fast‑moving global retail organization.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business teams to deliver solution‑oriented legal advice on commercial contracts, corporate governance, compliance, ESG/CSR, marketing, privacy, and consumer protection.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of commercial agreements.
• Support a broad range of legal, corporate, governance, and compliance matters for North American operations.
• Serve as a primary legal contact for corporate matters in Canada and the United States.
• Collaborate with the legal team on strategic projects and emerging legal issues.

Required profile

• Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar.
• 0–3 years of experience in private practice or an in‑house legal department, preferably with commercial law exposure.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication abilities.
• Proactive, organized, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Fluent in both French and English.
