About the role
We are looking for a motivated Legal Assistant to support our immigration practice in Delta, BC. You will work closely with lawyers and clients to ensure smooth administrative operations and high‑quality document preparation.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the flow of information and manage incoming mail, both regular and electronic.
- Schedule and confirm client appointments, maintaining an organized calendar.
- Supervise junior staff and maintain an efficient filing system.
- Develop and refine office procedures and routines.
- Prepare, type, and proofread legal correspondence and documents to ensure compliance with legal standards.
- Perform basic bookkeeping tasks and handle routine administrative duties.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation certificate (high school diploma) or equivalent.
- 1 to less than 2 years of experience in a legal or administrative support role.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and support newcomers, refugees, youth, and Indigenous workers.
Required skills
- Proficiency with MS Word.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite.
- Competent use of electronic mail (email).
- Familiarity with MS Windows operating system.
