Laboratory Technician – Phlebotomy (6‑month term)

About the role

Dynacare is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join its team at the Lakewood LHSC facility in Winnipeg. The role involves collecting high‑quality blood and other specimens from patients and performing routine laboratory procedures in line with the organization’s mission and values.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain venous and capillary blood specimens from patients.
• Perform routine specimen collections such as urine and prepare samples for analysis.
• Follow all safety and infectious‑material handling guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of test and control results.
• Prepare monthly quality‑control statistical reports.
• Conduct routine equipment maintenance and calibrations.
• Observe all safety precautions and complete any additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Graduate of a Laboratory Technician program or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset.
• Ability to multitask, work independently and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent communication.
• Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check.
