Laboratory Technician (Part‑time)

About the role

Dynacare is seeking a part‑time Laboratory Technician to join its Health Services Centre in Garden City. You will work on Saturday mornings, collecting quality blood and other specimens and performing routine laboratory tests while upholding the company’s mission and values.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain venous and capillary blood specimens, as well as urine and other samples.
• Perform routine laboratory procedures and specimen preparations for diagnostic use.
• Follow all safety and infectious‑material handling guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of test and control results.
• Prepare monthly quality‑control statistical reports.
• Conduct routine equipment maintenance, calibrations, and cleaning.
• Assist with additional duties as assigned by the team.

Required profile

• Graduate of a Laboratory Technician program or equivalent experience.
• Ability to multitask, work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check (within six months).
