Kitchen Supervisor

About the role

The Lao Lao Bar is seeking an experienced Kitchen Supervisor to lead its restaurant kitchen team in Toronto. You will coordinate daily food preparation, manage inventory, and ensure high‑quality service in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain work schedules for 11‑15 kitchen staff.
• Requisition food, supplies and monitor stock levels.
• Supervise and coordinate food preparation, portioning and tray assembly.
• Train staff on sanitation, safety procedures and proper food handling.
• Estimate ingredient needs, prepare order summaries for the chef and maintain records of stock, waste and sales.
• Hire and onboard new food‑service personnel while ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• 2‑3 years of kitchen supervisory experience.
• Safe Food Handling certification.
• Fluency in English; additional Thai or Lao language skills are an asset.
• Flexibility, teamwork and dependability.
