About the role
We are seeking a Justice Architect to join NORR’s multidisciplinary team, delivering design solutions for courthouses, police facilities and correctional centres. The role involves collaborating across disciplines to create functional, secure and sustainable environments that support the legal process.
Key responsibilities
- Develop architectural designs that meet quality, budget and schedule requirements for justice projects.
- Coordinate design intent with engineering, MEP and structural disciplines.
- Integrate site surveys, field reviews and jurisdictional codes into design documentation.
- Prepare design reports, drawings and 3‑D models following office standards.
- Conduct site visits to verify construction compliance and resolve deviations with owners and contractors.
- Review shop drawings and project deliverables to ensure adherence to codes and corporate quality controls.
Required profile
- Post‑secondary education in architecture and registration with a professional architectural association.
- 10‑15 years of experience across all phases of the project cycle, preferably on justice‑related projects.
- Strong understanding of building codes, MEP and structural systems.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Photoshop.
- Experience with other architectural design software.
- Knowledge of MEP and structural building systems.
- Familiarity with jurisdictional building codes.
