Junior Maintenance Technician (Entry Level)

About the role

Thrive Freeze Dry is seeking an entry‑level Maintenance Technician to join its Langley, BC plant. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will help keep production equipment running safely and efficiently while gaining hands‑on experience in an industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, and basic electrical systems.
• Support preventive maintenance tasks such as inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and part replacements.
• Perform routine maintenance on production line equipment to minimise downtime.
• Accurately complete maintenance logs, work orders, and basic reports.
• Operate maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment safely.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to maintain equipment performance and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Experience, technical training or education in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field.
• Strong interest in mechanical systems and hands‑on work.
• Basic understanding of tools with a willingness to learn maintenance techniques.
• Ability to read basic equipment diagrams or willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and a positive, team‑oriented attitude.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel).
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform tasks requiring kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting.
• Comfortable working in temperature‑controlled, refrigerated or chilled environments and standing for long periods.
