Junior Legal Counsel

About the role

The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to support its large‑scale infrastructure projects across the GO Transit network. You will work closely with the legal team, project leads, and external partners to ensure contractual compliance and protect the company’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and represent the company on a wide range of contractual matters, from routine to complex.
• Provide strategic oversight of claims, dispute resolution and insurance issues.
• Draft, review and negotiate various contractual agreements.
• Identify and assess legal and contractual risks, recommending mitigation plans.
• Support the implementation of the Shareholders’ Agreement and Delegation of Authority.
• Collaborate with affiliated contractors to coordinate risk allocation.

Required profile

• Hands‑on self‑starter with strong motivation and proactive attitude.
• Experience supporting major infrastructure projects, especially transit, rail or public‑private partnerships.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to anticipate legal needs of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team.
