Junior Functional QA Analyst (8‑month contract)

About the role

This 8‑month contract position offers an early‑career QA professional the chance to work on enterprise applications for a Burnaby‑based client. You will join an Agile project team, performing functional testing and collaborating with developers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure high‑quality software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute test plans, test cases and scripts based on business and functional requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, end‑to‑end and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Validate system functionality across Guidewire applications and integrated systems.
• Execute API testing to verify data exchanges and system integrations.
• Analyze test results, log defects and document findings with clear recommendations.
• Maintain test documentation, including plans, cases, execution results and summary reports.
• Collaborate with developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners and other stakeholders to achieve full test coverage.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, backlog refinement and retrospectives.
• Create and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Java and Cucumber, and support CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Track and manage defects using JIRA, Azure DevOps or ALM.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing.
• Hands‑on experience with functional, regression, integration and end‑to‑end testing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within cross‑functional teams.
