About the role
Scotiabank is seeking a motivated Junior Full Stack Developer to join its Payments technology team. You will work on modern banking applications, collaborating with designers, product owners, and backend engineers to deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain responsive web applications using ReactJS.
- Build and support backend services and APIs with Node.js.
- Collaborate with teams integrating Java‑based BaaS services.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and deployment activities.
- Work closely with product owners, designers, and developers to deliver features in an Agile environment.
- Contribute to technical discussions, continuous improvement initiatives, and sprint ceremonies.
- Take initiative in problem‑solving and continuously improve technical skills.
Required profile
- 1–3 years of hands‑on software development experience (internships/co‑op considered).
- Strong understanding of JavaScript and modern web development concepts.
- Experience with ReactJS and exposure to Node.js backend development.
- Basic knowledge of REST APIs and client‑server architecture.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and a quick learning attitude.
