Junior FDIR-FSW Systems Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior FDIR‑FSW Systems Engineer to support fault detection, isolation and recovery activities for satellite platforms and payloads. The role involves documenting fault actions, reviewing designs and procedures, and assisting the operations team during testing and in‑orbit activities. Full relocation support, including immigration assistance, is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Document fault detection actions of the platform and payload at system and subsystem levels.
• Collaborate with system, subsystem, payload and unit teams to review FMECAs and provide feedback on detection, isolation and recovery of failure modes.
• Provide input to the Operations team for procedures, manuals and satellite test procedures to align with the FDIR strategy.
• Review Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and supply parameters and monitors to the satellite database team.
• Assess payload, platform and subsystem designs to ensure compliance with FDIR requirements.
• Validate Operations Procedures against the FDIR strategy.
• Evaluate FDIR test artifacts to determine test success.
• Develop Verification & Validation matrices for payload and platform FDIR requirements.
• Support the operations team for In‑Orbit Test (IOT), anomaly resolution and FDIR activities.
• Assist the payload team in defining payload‑to‑platform FDIR interactions.
• Participate in ICD development for both hardware and software/database components.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant practical experience (or higher degree equivalents).
• Knowledge of LEO/MEO satellite systems.
• Understanding of satellite systems and subsystems.

Required skills

• Experience creating Fault Trees and FMECAs.
• Working knowledge of PUS services.
• Experience with payload development or integration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for engineering analyses.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (French is a plus).
