Journeyman/Woman Drywall Installer

About the role

KERR Interior Systems Ltd is seeking a skilled journeyman or journewoman drywall installer to join its commercial construction team in Edmonton. You will work on a variety of interior projects, ensuring high‑quality finishes while adhering to safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Instruct apprentices and coordinate on‑site activities.
• Clean, prepare, and cut drywall sheets; install them on metal or wood studs.
• Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids, acoustic tiles, and coffered ceilings.
• Cut and install metal corner beads, ornamental plaster panels, cornices and trim.
• Attach metal or gypsum lath, cut openings for HVAC, ductwork and electrical.
• Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms; work at heights.
• Install exterior and interior steel studs, metal stud framing, and furring.

Required profile

• Other trades certificate or diploma in drywall installation or equivalent experience.
• 2‑3 years of relevant experience.
• Lather Red Seal Certificate and Lather Trade Certification.
• Own reliable vehicle for travel between sites.
• Physical ability to lift up to 23 kg, bend, crouch, kneel and work on scaffolding.
• Dependable, flexible, reliable team player with good English communication skills.
