Janitor – Commercial Building Maintenance

Job description
Key responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs.
- Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse.
- Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
- Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings.
- Maintain cleanliness in office and commercial building environments.
- Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
- Report any major repair needs to contractors.
- Work with minimal supervision.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- 2 to less than 3 years of cleaning experience.
- WHMIS certification.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
