IT Assistant – Support Microsoft 365 & Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a motivated IT Assistant to join the internal IT team at UBC Properties Trust. You will be the first point of contact for day‑to‑day technology support, helping staff across our campuses keep their devices, applications and meeting rooms running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 support for hardware, software, account and connectivity issues.
• Assist users with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Troubleshoot Windows and macOS devices, printers, docking stations, mobile devices and peripherals.
• Perform daily health checks on critical infrastructure such as Microsoft Teams Rooms, displays, cameras and microphones.
• Escalate complex technical problems to the Director of IT & Cybersecurity as needed.

• Detail‑oriented and eager to support a modern Microsoft‑based environment.
• Enjoys both proactive operational tasks and responsive user assistance.
• Ability to follow documented procedures and communicate professionally with staff.

Required skills

• Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Office apps).
• Windows and macOS operating systems.
• Basic hardware troubleshooting (printers, docking stations, mobile devices).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, virtualization and endpoint management.
• Understanding of Teams Rooms equipment and networking basics.
