About the role

The Department of Biochemistry at McGill University is seeking reliable invigilators to supervise the BIOC 311 (Metabolic Biochemistry) mid‑term examinations in the fall of 2026. This short‑term, on‑site position involves ensuring a smooth, fair testing environment for students during two exam sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Set up examination rooms according to specific requirements and ensure equipment functions properly.
• Administer exam materials, collect completed booklets, and return them to the instructor.
• Monitor students during the exam, enforce university regulations, and address any problems that arise.
• Collect and secure mobile and web‑accessible devices before the exam starts and return them afterward.
• Accompany students to washrooms, alert the professor to questions, and report any irregular behavior.

Required profile

• Client‑focused, service‑oriented and punctual.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities, with accurate information handling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining a quiet environment.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; French language skills are an asset.
