Intern Researcher - AI/ML Technology Insight and Planning

About the role

Huawei Canada has an immediate internship opening for a researcher in its Computing Data Application Acceleration Lab. The team focuses on full‑stack innovations, software‑hardware co‑design, and next‑generation GPU architectures for gaming, cloud rendering, VR/AR, and Metaverse applications.

Key responsibilities

• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest AI/ML technology trends and research achievements, producing insightful technology reports.
• Drive the evaluation and adoption of cutting‑edge AI/ML technologies and methodologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to develop strategic technical plans for AI/ML projects.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the AI/ML team.

Required profile

• PhD or Master in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on AI & Deep Learning and a solid publication record.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and navigate a complex technical landscape.
• Technical research and development experience in AI/ML domains.
• Experience in heterogeneous (CPU/GPU/NPU) computing, high‑performance AI computing architecture, Big Data, and graphic processing is an asset.
• Keen sense of technology to gather first‑hand insights and stay abreast of industry trends.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
