Intermediate Generalist Tutor – In-Person & In-Home

About the role

Prep Academy Tutors is seeking energetic educators to provide in‑person and in‑home tutoring for students in Grades 4‑10 across North and Downtown Toronto. The role focuses on delivering personalized instruction aligned with the Ontario curriculum and fostering confidence and independent learning.

Key responsibilities

• Empower students with personalized academic support aligned with the Ontario curriculum for Grades 4–10.
• Tutor across core subjects including Math, English, Science, Social Studies, French and study/organization skills.
• Develop customized learning plans addressing each student’s strengths, challenges and goals.
• Provide remedial support and enrichment opportunities, preparing students for assessments, projects and tests.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about progress and areas for improvement.

Required profile

• Current, valid registration with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or a certified teacher in Canada/US (or in process).
• Enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program or experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited college/university.
• Experience tutoring or teaching students in Grades 4–10 and familiarity with the Ontario curriculum.
• Reliable transportation to travel to students’ homes in North Toronto and Downtown Toronto.
