Intermediate Desktop & System Support Technician

About the role

The Intermediate Desktop & System Support Technician will ensure the stability and performance of the organization’s desktop, server and network environment. This role involves installing upgrades, managing backups, handling hardware repairs, and supporting end‑users across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑level support for desktops, laptops, phones, printers and other peripherals, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.
• Install, configure and maintain operating systems, applications, software updates and perform data backups and recoveries.
• Maintain hardware inventory, manage purchases, and recommend hardware and software budgeting.
• Monitor software licensing, keep licensing database up‑to‑date, and ensure compliance.
• Assist users with account setup, password resets and access permissions.
• Document incidents and resolutions in the service‑desk ticketing system.
• Collaborate with the IT team on system upgrades, maintenance and security best practices.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 + years of desktop support and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills, able to interact with all organizational levels.
• Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM practices is preferred.
