Intermediate Architect – Residential & Commercial Design

About the role

Little Giant is looking for an Intermediate Architect to contribute to highly detailed residential and commercial projects. The role involves managing consultants, coordinating across our Calgary and Victoria offices, and mentoring junior staff while delivering high‑quality design and construction documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate consultants on complex residential and hospitality projects.
• Develop schematic design concepts using 3D models, CAD drawings, hand sketches, and physical models.
• Prepare client presentations and maintain primary client contact throughout the project.
• Manage project workplans, invoicing, resourcing, and scheduling with support from senior staff.
• Conduct building and energy code reviews and ensure compliance with construction standards.
• Support studio initiatives such as continuing education, design reviews, and implementation of innovative technologies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in detailed single‑family residential design; multi‑family or hospitality experience is a plus.
• Strong design sensibility with the ability to develop conceptual ideas independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.
• Detail‑oriented, able to balance speed with thoroughness, and adaptable to change.

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Sketch‑Up.
• Proficiency in Enscape.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
