Information Technology Specialist

About the role

Fidus is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to join its Kanata office. The role blends frontline help‑desk support with Azure, security, and AI enablement responsibilities, ensuring the technology backbone runs smoothly for a high‑tech design firm.

Key responsibilities

• Share ownership of IT help‑desk operations, resolve tickets promptly and provide excellent customer service.
• Lead organization‑wide AI enablement and deployment, supporting rollout, adoption, and responsible use of AI tools.
• Administer and maintain Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, including Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Purview, Sentinel, Exchange Online and related services.
• Handle IT onboarding and off‑boarding processes, hardware provisioning (Autopilot deployments, asset tracking) and end‑user support.
• Monitor and maintain Windows OS, Office 365, Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat) and provide limited macOS support.
• Drive identity integrations such as SSO, SCIM and automated JIT access controls.
• Apply security best practices across identity, endpoints and cloud, supporting compliance and cybersecurity requirements.
• Create and maintain documentation for IT processes, configurations and security training.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of experience in an IT role within a 50‑250 employee organization.
• Post‑secondary education in a computer‑related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience administering Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Experience leading or supporting AI enablement initiatives.
• Solid knowledge of security concepts and familiarity with compliance frameworks.
• Working knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat) and command‑line administration.
• Experience with IT ticketing systems and hardware provisioning.
