Industrial Millwright/Operator

About the role

The City of Ottawa Water Services is seeking skilled Industrial Millwrights/Operators to join its maintenance team. You will work in a regulated, production‑focused environment, ensuring the reliable operation of water‑treatment, distribution, and wastewater facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned, unplanned and emergency inspections, testing, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of process mechanical systems and equipment.
• Operate licensed water‑treatment, wastewater‑treatment and collection system equipment, adjusting process parameters in coordination with other operators.
• Maintain chemical feed, metering, piping, storage, pumping, valve, crane, rigging and hoisting systems.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, skilled‑trade and maintenance staff to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.

Required profile

• Valid licence for water‑treatment, wastewater‑treatment or wastewater‑collection system operation.
• Experience working with industrial mechanical equipment in a water‑services or similar environment.
• Ability to work safely in an industrial setting and follow regulatory and quality standards.
