Industrial Electrician - Night Shift

About the role

Johnson Electric is hiring a Manufacturing Systems Technician (Industrial Electrician) for an existing position in Mississauga, Ontario, working night shift. The role maintains, refurbishes and repairs production equipment and facilities, and supports the assembly, debugging, installation and start-up of new or modified production equipment. The salary range is $90,000-$100,000 annually.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, refurbish, troubleshoot and repair production equipment and facility systems.
• Support the mechanical assembly, electrical installation, debugging, installation and start-up of new or modified production equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to implement production machinery for new manufacturing projects.
• Maintain operational quality and efficiency targets.
• Support equipment maintenance in line with ISO/IATF 16949 standards.
• Maintain housekeeping and project organization in the maintenance department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Skilled trade certificate of electrician.
• At least five years of hands-on experience repairing and maintaining CNC machining and automated assembly applications in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of automotive systems and quality requirements based on QS9000 operating systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, conflict-management and problem-solving skills, and ability to work with employees at all levels.

Required skills

• Hands-on technical skills in mechanical assembly, machine repair, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems.
• PLC- and CNC-based control and logic systems.
• Bonus points: welding and basic manual machining, experience installing, debugging and starting up equipment, ISO/IATF 16949 experience, and cross-functional experience with Operations, Quality, Engineering and Maintenance.
