Industrial Electrician - Day Shift

About the role

Johnson Electric is hiring an Industrial Electrician for its Ancaster, Ontario site. The position is full-time and permanent, on a day-shift schedule, with a pay rate of $42.21-$45.16 per hour plus shift premium. Key responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to ISO 45001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and other industry standards in all activities
• Design, develop and document electrical power and distribution systems, controls and machine safety
• Create and maintain documentation for new and existing assembly lines, and update electrical schematics
• Select and size components, design safety diagrams, panel and machine layouts, and pneumatic and hydraulic circuits
• Design and document electrical automation systems and coordinate continuous improvement initiatives
• Work with suppliers to specify components, create and maintain electrical build standards, and support machine builds
• Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic circuits and work with controls technicians on PLC, robot and vision system setup

Required profile

• Certificate or diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of related experience preferred
• Effective written and verbal communication, critical thinking and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team, with integrity and a results orientation

Required skills

• Electrical schematic drawing
• Knowledge of PLCs, panels, field I/O modules, VFDs and servo systems
• Understanding of safety circuits and controls networks such as Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, I/O Link and ASi
• Electrical code, components and wire sizing
