Incubation Lab Administrator

About the role

The Learning Technology Innovation Centre at UBC is seeking an Incubation Lab Administrator to design, plan, and lead a university‑wide research support program focused on AI‑enabled pedagogical and disciplinary innovation. Reporting to the Associate Director, Strategy and Operations, the role will manage end‑to‑end intake, evaluation, and resourcing of faculty proposals while ensuring alignment with LTIC’s mandate and UBC strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operations and service delivery for the Incubation Lab’s research support function, overseeing communications, day‑to‑day lab operations, resource allocation, and partner coordination.
• Design and manage the research proposal intake, evaluation, and resourcing process, developing protocols to assess faculty proposals for funding and in‑kind allocations.
• Oversee research compliance, ethics, and information security workflows to ensure projects meet UBC standards.
• Act as an internal advisor to faculty teams, clarifying research or pedagogical questions and shepherding projects from inquiry to outcomes.
• Coordinate collaboration across Incubation Lab teams, facilitating meetings on project status, targets, and dependencies.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and strategic alignment sessions, integrating UBC strategic directions into the Lab’s vision and approach.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
