Incoming Quality Inspector – Level I

About the role

The Incoming Quality Inspector Level I ensures that all manufactured and purchased parts meet RAD's strict quality standards before they enter inventory. Working on the shop floor, you will perform inspections, generate non‑conformance reports, and support continuous improvement of productivity and product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect incoming manufactured and purchased components from secondary operations.
• Initiate non‑conformance reports for any parts that do not meet specifications.
• Verify that inspection equipment, drawings, programs, and manpower are available for timely inspections.
• Collaborate with the Incoming Quality Control Supervisor and other departments to optimize delivery times.
• Maintain accurate records in the incoming quality inspection and inventory system.
• Write and update written procedures for inspection and inventory control processes.
• Participate in daily huddles, keep the work area clean, and support overall manufacturing efficiency.

Required profile

• High school diploma; post‑secondary training in mechanical inspection is an asset.
• 1–2 years of experience inspecting precision‑machined parts.
• Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems, especially for incoming quality control or inventory management.
• Experience dealing with external vendors and secondary operations is a plus.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

Required skills

• Interpretation of mechanical drawings and GD&T specifications.
• Use of micrometers, calipers, height gauges, gauge blocks, gauge pins, and bore gauges.
• Perform detailed visual inspections.
• Batch sampling techniques and non‑conformance reporting.
• Basic knowledge of MRP/ERP systems for quality and inventory control.
