Incoming Quality Inspector – Level I

About the role

The Incoming Quality Inspector Level I is responsible for inspecting incoming manufactured and purchased parts to ensure they meet RAD’s quality standards. The role supports product quality, manufacturing throughput and overall efficiency while working a full‑time schedule of Monday to Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, gauge blocks, gauge pins and bore gauges.
• Initiate non‑conformance reports for any parts that do not meet specifications.
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the incoming quality inspection and inventory system.
• Collaborate with the Incoming Quality Control Supervisor and other departments to optimise delivery times and part availability.
• Write and update written procedures for inspection and inventory control processes.
• Attend daily huddles, uphold a clean workplace and communicate RAD’s purpose and values.

Required profile

• High School Diploma; post‑secondary training in mechanical inspection or machining is an asset.
• 1–2 years of experience inspecting precision‑machined parts (preferred).
• Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems for incoming quality control or inventory control (preferred).
• Experience working with external vendors or secondary operations (preferred).
• Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

Required skills

• Interpretation of mechanical drawings and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GDT).
• Use of micrometers, calipers, height gauges, gauge blocks, gauge pins and bore gauges.
• Detailed visual inspection techniques.
• Batch sampling procedures.
• Non‑conformance reporting.
• Basic operation of MRP/ERP quality control modules.
