Inclusive Child Care Worker – Temporary (Maternity Leave Cover)

About the role

Join BGC Okanagan as an Inclusive Child Care Worker on a temporary, full‑time basis to support children with diverse developmental and support needs. This role provides maternity‑leave coverage until June 2027 and is part of a collaborative inclusive childcare model serving families across the Central Okanagan.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in assessment, goal setting and program planning for each child.
• Support children with a range of developmental and support needs in childcare settings.
• Facilitate physical, recreational, educational, social and vocational activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including daily case notes and program reports.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents/guardians and ensure effective communication.

Required profile

• Diploma in a human or social service field.
• At least one year of experience working with children and youth with support needs.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable vehicle for travel between sites.
• Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.
• ECE or ECE Assistant certification is an asset.
