Inclusion Support Educator – 15 hrs/week (School‑Age)

About the role

As an Inclusion Support Educator at Compass Early Learning and Care, you will work in a kindergarten or school‑age classroom within the after‑school program, engaging children, families, and community partners. The role runs Monday‑Friday from 2 pm to 6 pm, offering 15 hours per week with potential for additional hours based on program needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and lead interest‑based, play‑based activities that support children’s physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.
• Maintain active supervision while actively participating in play.
• Document children’s learning progress through observation and reflection.
• Ensure a safe, healthy environment and assist with diapering, dressing and eating.
• Build strong relationships with families and involve them in the learning process.
• Collaborate with coworkers, families and community partners to create a supportive setting.
• Participate in team meetings, professional learning and staff training.
• Assist with housekeeping duties and follow CELC, CCEYA and Ministry of Education policies.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience working with children and youth.
• Familiarity with the Child Care Early Years Act and licensing standards.
• Valid Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check, Standard First Aid, CPR Level C and up‑to‑date immunization records.
• Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators, or currently pursuing an ECE diploma or an approved alternative childcare designation.
