Hydrovac Truck Operator

About the role

The Hydrovac Truck Operator will operate a hydrovac vehicle across various locations, providing safe and efficient excavation services while ensuring excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Coach colleagues on new methods and work techniques.
• Maintain professionalism in all customer interactions.
• Inspect and oversee vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and equipment.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Conduct pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections and complete related documentation.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• 1 to < 7 months of relevant experience.
• Air Brake (Z) endorsement and a valid Class 3 or D driver’s licence.
• Basic security clearance, bondable status, criminal record and drug‑test clearance.
• Ability to handle heavy loads (up to 23 kg) and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail, good judgement and reliability.
