Hydrovac / Combo Vac Operator – Seasonal/Contract

About the role

Sideworx Connect is hiring Hydrovac and Combo Vac Operators for short‑term and seasonal projects across Alberta. The role offers flexible scheduling for both employees and independent contractors, allowing you to work on a variety of excavation jobs.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and operate the hydrovac truck to and from job sites.
• Dig, direct swampers and ensure successful completion of hydro‑excavation processes.
• Maintain high‑quality work while meeting efficiency targets.
• Follow company policies, health and safety regulations, DOT rules and hazardous‑waste requirements.
• Work 12‑hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime; travel as required.

Required profile

• Valid Class 3 licence with air‑brake endorsement.
• H2S Alive certification, First Aid & CPR Level C, and Common Safety Orientation.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test.
• Preference for additional licences and safety tickets such as Class 1 licence, clean driver abstract, TDG & WHMIS, Ground Disturbance Level II, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection and Aerial Work Platform.

Required skills

• Hydrovac truck operation.
• Class 3 licence with air‑brake.

• First Aid & CPR Level C.
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) handling.
• WHMIS knowledge.
• Ground disturbance procedures.
• Confined space entry techniques.
• Fall protection and aerial work platform operation.
