Human Resources Business Partner

About the role

The Human Resources Business Partner will serve as a strategic advisor to business units within Metro Supply Chain, supporting employee relations, compliance, recruitment, health and safety, performance management and culture initiatives. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the role ensures consistent application of policies and drives a positive work environment across North American and European sites.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and consultation on employee relations, performance reviews, corrective actions, coaching and development.
• Ensure legal compliance with provincial employment legislation and company policies, advising management on legislative changes.
• Administer employee records, HRIS data, WSIB and WCB claims, compensation and other HR programs.
• Support change management initiatives, including integration of employees and HR systems during acquisitions.
• Develop and promote policies and programs that enhance employee satisfaction, engagement and inclusive communication.
• Facilitate recognition and reward initiatives, and drive participation in employee climate surveys.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR advisory roles, preferably within a large, multi‑site organization.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence managers and drive cultural initiatives.
