Housing & Hospitality Assistant (Part‑time, 75% FTE)

About the role

The Housing & Hospitality Assistant supports the 24/7 operations of Student Housing & Hospitality Services front desk on the UBC Okanagan Campus, working overnight shifts and providing essential customer service to students and conference guests.

Key responsibilities

• Process payments, post charges, reconcile cash, cheques, and electronic transactions for housing fees, meal plans and conference accounts.
• Provide check‑in and check‑out services, advise on housing contracts, meal plans and accommodation options, and resolve guest concerns.
• Maintain key inventory, manage electronic lock system updates, and handle lost‑and‑found and parcel services.
• Enter reservation data, monitor room assignments, and coordinate with housekeeping to ensure room readiness.
• Train and support seasonal staff and part‑time student appointments, delegating tasks and ensuring completion.
• Prepare and verify financial reports, journal vouchers, and online cash reports, investigating discrepancies as needed.

Required profile

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Graduation from a one‑year post‑secondary program.
• At least three years of related experience in hospitality, front‑desk, or financial administration.
