Home Support Worker – Personal Care & Assistance

About the role

West Van Homecare is seeking a compassionate Home Support Worker to provide personal care and assistance to clients in their homes. The role involves supporting elderly and persons with physical disabilities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Administer bedside and personal care, including bathing, hygiene, and dressing.
• Assist clients with regular exercise, walking, and mobility.
• Change non‑sterile dressings and support feeding or meal assistance.
• Launder clothing and household linens and perform light housekeeping duties.
• Provide companionship, shop for food and household supplies, and prepare nutritious meals.
• Cook meals and ensure a clean, safe living environment.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to handle up to 13.5 kg (30 lb) and use lifting devices.
• Reference required; punctual, dependable, and honest.
• Flexible, patient, organized, and a good team player.
