Heavy Equipment Operator (Excavator & Dozer)

About the role

A pipeline construction project in northeast BC is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator (excavator and dozer) to report to the Construction Manager. The role is project-based and fill-time, with a start date right away. It involves operating excavators (hoes) and dozers on pipeline right-of-way.

Key responsibilities

• Operate excavators and dozers on pipeline right-of-way activities
• Strip topsoil and manage material storage and segregation
• Complete rough and final grading of the right-of-way
• Support backfill, final clean-up and reclamation work
• Perform daily pre-use equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Work safely alongside crews, following site procedures and hazard assessments
• Follow environmental and reclamation requirements

Required profile

• Proven pipeline experience with stripping, grading and clean-up
• Proficiency on both excavators and dozers; GPS/grade control experience is an asset
• Ability to read grade stakes and work to survey and specifications
• Strong safety mindset and good team attitude
• Valid driver's licence
• Legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions

• Ground Disturbance Level 2
• CSTS-09 (Construction Safety Training System) or equivalent
• Additional tickets such as TDG, fall protection or pipeline orientation are an asset

What we offer

• Pay of $42.00 - $45.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
• Schedule of 6 days on, 1 day off with 12-hour days
• Living allowance of $175 per day and truck allowance for qualified candidates
