Heavy Equipment Operator (Dozer) – Fort Hills

About the role

Join NACG as a Dozer Operator on the remote Fort Hills mining site near Fort McMurray. Work a 14‑day on/7‑day off schedule with 12‑hour paid shifts, supporting safe and efficient overburden removal.

Key responsibilities

• Operate various sizes and models of D8‑D10 dozers to complete bulk‑pushing tasks.
• Read stakes and place grades as required.
• Conduct equipment walk‑arounds, safety checks, and field‑level risk assessments.
• Follow all company, client, and legislative safety policies and operating standards.
• Review and adhere to safe work plans and hazard assessments before each job.
• Report repairs, incidents, near‑misses, or damage promptly to supervisors or maintenance.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience operating D8‑D10 dozers in a mining environment (overburden).
• Experience working on muskeg or soft ground.
• High school diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary education is a plus.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and clean driver’s abstract.
• Proficient in English (verbal and written).
• Safety‑first attitude with strong listening skills.
