Heavy Equipment Mechanic Helper (Seasonal)

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Heavy Equipment Mechanic Helper to work on a seasonal, full‑time basis at Les Jardins Sorel Inc. in Saint‑Michel, Quebec. The role involves assisting mechanics and other tradespeople with daily tasks to keep heavy equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Transport and organize tools, equipment, and other materials to the appropriate work sites, ensuring everything is readily available for the mechanics.
• Provide direct assistance to tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers as instructed, supporting their activities on the job.
• Maintain cleanliness of machines and surrounding work areas, removing debris and ensuring a tidy environment.
• Adjust equipment, diagnose issues, and repair or replace defective parts to restore functionality.
• Carry out routine maintenance procedures on machinery, such as lubrication, inspections, and minor adjustments.

Required profile

• No formal degree, certificate or diploma is required, making this position accessible to candidates without prior academic qualifications.
• Between 1 and less than 7 months of relevant experience in a similar role, demonstrating basic familiarity with equipment handling.
• Willingness to contribute to a welcoming workplace for youth, including participation in awareness training programs.
