About the role

NACG is looking for an experienced Grader Operator to join its remote mining team at Fort Hills, near Fort McMurray. You will operate articulating motor graders to maintain roadways and loading areas in a mining or heavy‑construction environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate motor graders (16‑24 ft blade) – models may include Caterpillar and John Deere.
  • Read grade stakes and use GPS equipment to place accurate grades.
  • Perform pre‑use equipment inspections and safe fueling/servicing.
  • Conduct field‑level risk and hazard assessments before and during tasks.
  • Interact with light vehicles, haul trucks, and other contractor equipment while following mine driving rules.
  • Review and follow safe work plans, safety policies, and legislative requirements.
  • Report repairs, incidents, near‑misses, or damage immediately to supervisors.

Required profile

  • Minimum 2 years experience operating graders (preferably 16 ft or larger).
  • Experience on M‑series graders is an asset.
  • Haul‑road maintenance experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read grade stakes and operate GPS grading equipment.
  • At least 1 year experience in mining or heavy‑construction earthworks (preferred).
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean abstract (pulled within 30 days).
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.

  • Combined pay rate up to $52.29 CAD per hour.
  • Night‑shift premium of $1.20 per hour.
