Healthcare Planner 2

About the role

HDR is seeking a Healthcare Planner 2 to join its Architecture practice. In this position you will help translate clinical and operational requirements into practical, buildable designs for a variety of healthcare facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide planning, design, and coordination support on healthcare projects of varying scale and complexity.
• Create architectural drawings, diagrams, test fits, and space plans using CAD, BIM, and related tools.
• Interpret user group input and clinical/operational needs to develop functional layouts with minimal senior guidance.
• Participate in user group meetings and planning workshops, leading portions as appropriate.
• Coordinate planning information with architectural, engineering, and project management teams.
• Research and apply Canadian healthcare facility guidelines, standards, and best practices.
• Assist in preparing reports and documentation related to planning activities.

Required profile

• Architectural professional with developing experience in healthcare design.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within an integrated design team.
• Familiarity with functional planning principles and healthcare programming is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Experience using BIM tools.
