Health Care Aide

About the role

The Health Care Aide (HCA) will join a multidisciplinary team delivering personal assistance to clients in the Eckville community. Working under the supervision of a regulated health professional, you will support daily living activities and follow individualized care plans in a dynamic, client‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care including hygiene, dressing, nutrition, and mobility assistance.
• Perform simple wound dressings, catheter care, ostomy care, and medication assistance as outlined in the client’s care plan.
• Guide clients through range‑of‑motion and strengthening exercises.
• Assist nurses with routine care, observe and report changes in mood, health, and wellbeing.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, offering emotional support and clear communication.

Required profile

• Valid HCA certification (or willingness to obtain certification promptly).
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Strong time‑management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑changing setting.
• Excellent listening skills and a positive, optimistic attitude toward patient‑centered care.
