Health and Safety Specialist

About the role

Spark Power is looking for a Health and Safety Specialist to join its Belleville team. In this position you will champion workplace safety, build strong cross‑functional relationships, and help create a positive safety culture across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain HSE programs that meet all applicable health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with company, client and regulatory standards.
• Lead incident investigations, determine root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Partner with Operations leadership to embed safe, efficient and compliant work practices.
• Monitor program effectiveness, adjust as needed, and keep accurate records of incidents, inspections and training.

Required profile

• Minimum NCSO designation with 3‑5 years of experience in construction or electrical work (preferred).
• Diploma or certification in Occupational Health and Safety is an asset.
• Experience managing third‑party pre‑qualification systems such as ISNetworld, Avetta or ComplyWorks.
• Strong communication, teamwork and continuous‑improvement mindset.

Required skills

• Certified Internal IHSA COR Auditor.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Hands‑on experience with ISNetworld, Avetta or ComplyWorks pre‑qualification platforms.
