Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Systems Engineer

About the role

Our client is looking for a Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Systems Engineer to lead the design, integration, verification and on‑orbit support of GNC subsystems for current and next‑generation remote‑sensing and communications satellites. The role spans the full lifecycle, from algorithm development through hardware implementation and real‑time flight software integration.

Key responsibilities

• Derive functional, performance and safety requirements from mission goals and produce system specifications, ICDs and requirement traceability matrices.
• Conduct trade studies on sensors and actuators, run high‑fidelity dynamics simulations (Matlab/Simulink, STK) and validate control laws through Monte‑Carlo and SIL/HIL testing.
• Design and implement attitude‑determination, orbit‑determination and 3‑axis control algorithms, and translate them into real‑time flight software.
• Lead integration and verification activities, author test plans, perform functional tests, and manage failure‑mode and reliability analyses.
• Coordinate with C&DH, structures, thermal and mission operations teams, maintain ICDs and support on‑orbit checkout and contingency operations.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Physics or related field (M.Sc. preferred) with at least 10 years of GNC/AOCS experience on LEO/MEO/GEO platforms.
• Strong knowledge of orbital mechanics, attitude dynamics, control‑law design and real‑time filtering.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage requirements and communicate technical results in English and French.

• Real‑time operating systems and embedded flight‑software development.
• Confluence and JIRA for project tracking.
