Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Systems Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Systems Engineer to design, integrate, verify, and support GNC subsystems for current and next‑generation remote‑sensing and communications satellites. The role covers the full lifecycle from algorithm development through hardware implementation and on‑orbit operations.

Key responsibilities

• Derive functional, performance, and safety requirements from mission goals and produce system requirements, ICDs, and description documents.
• Conduct trade studies on sensor and actuator suites and run high‑fidelity dynamics simulations using Matlab/Simulink and STK.
• Design and validate attitude‑determination, orbit‑determination, and control‑law algorithms, including Monte‑Carlo and worst‑case analyses.
• Translate algorithms into real‑time flight software requirements, collaborate with C&DH and FSW teams, and support SIL/HIL testing.
• Specify hardware, define interfaces, and ensure proper mounting, thermal paths, and vibration survivability.
• Author verification plans, lead functional tests, and perform FMEA, FTA, and reliability predictions.
• Mentor junior engineers, act as liaison with customers and vendors, and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or Physics (M.Sc. preferred) with 10+ years of GNC/AOCS experience on LEO/MEO/GEO platforms.
• Deep knowledge of orbital mechanics, attitude dynamics, and control‑law design (classical and optimal).
• Hands‑on experience with systems integration, testing, and problem resolution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
