Guest Service Agent

About the role

The Guest Service Agent is the first point of contact for guests at our Sutton Place Hotel in Winnipeg. You will ensure a smooth check‑in and check‑out experience, address guest inquiries, and support a welcoming atmosphere in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Register arriving guests, assign rooms and process group arrivals and departures.
• Handle reservations, cancellations, changes and wake‑up call requests.
• Provide information on hotel facilities, services and local points of interest.
• Exchange foreign currency, calculate charges, receive payments and balance cash reports.
• Maintain accurate inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments.
• Answer telephone calls, relay messages and perform clerical duties such as faxing, filing and photocopying.
• Assist guests with special needs and follow emergency and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1‑2 years of experience in hospitality front‑desk or guest services.
• Strong client focus, dependability, excellent oral and written communication.
• Ability to work under pressure, stand for extended periods and maintain attention to detail.
• Team player with good judgment, organization and resourcefulness.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Opera property‑management system.
