Ground Handler – Cargo Loading & Unloading

About the role

Join Cargojet’s Winnipeg operation as a Ground Handler, responsible for the safe and efficient processing of cargo, aircraft loading and unloading, and warehousing activities. This role supports both full‑time and part‑time schedules and requires working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload aircraft and trucks using ground support equipment.
• Lift and move packages up to 60 lbs repeatedly.
• Sort packages by customer, destination airport, and other criteria.
• Communicate piece counts and package details to lead hands and supervisors.
• Handle customer freight with care and follow all safety and security protocols.
• Perform housekeeping duties and tasks related to dangerous‑goods handling.
• Meet time‑sensitive deadlines for freight build‑up and breakdown as part of a team.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (or equivalent).
• Ability to obtain a RAIC security pass.
• Consistent punctuality and strong attendance.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and statutory holidays.
• Ability to pass a background check and work outdoors.

Required skills

• Knowledge of WHMIS, SMS, Dangerous Goods and Hazard Prevention training.
• Ability to operate ground support equipment safely.
