Grass Cutting Technician

About the role

Join Mylestone Property Maintenance as a Grass Cutting Technician, working outdoors in Ottawa to keep commercial landscapes looking their best. You will support a fast‑paced team, performing a variety of lawn and garden maintenance tasks in an urban environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with landscape construction projects, tying and securing plants.
• Weed, prune, and trim trees, shrubs, and other vegetation.
• Cut grass, rake, and collect refuse, removing litter and garbage.
• Cart and spread topsoil, lay sod or seed, and plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees.
• Write daily basic progress reports.
• Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens.
• Operate and maintain small‑engine landscape equipment, including weed trimmers and edgers.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1 to less than 2 years of experience in landscape or property maintenance.
• Ability to work in wet, noisy, dusty, and hot outdoor conditions.
• Physically demanding work with repetitive tasks, requiring manual dexterity, hand‑eye coordination, and the ability to bend, crouch, and kneel.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a client‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Operation of small engine equipment.
• Weed trimmer and edger usage.
• Landscape maintenance equipment operation and basic maintenance.
