General Service Employee

About the role

Westerner Park is looking for a full‑time General Service Employee to join its Event Delivery team. You will play a key part in setting up, executing, and breaking down a wide variety of events, from internal gatherings to concerts and sports attractions, while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and dismantle event spaces, including banquet rooms, pavilions, and outdoor areas, following safety and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with supervisors, client services, and managers to address client requests and maintain high service standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of event areas, washrooms, and public spaces before, during, and after events.
• Handle agricultural event logistics such as steel panels, horse‑stalling panels, and ground‑grooming equipment.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks (painting, wall repairs, furniture fixes, light carpet cleaning) and conduct equipment inspections.
• Operate machinery safely, including forklifts, skid steers, tractors, and floor scrubbers.
• Maintain sidewalks, parking lots, and grounds through snow removal, sweeping, mowing, mulching, aerating, weeding, and edging.
• Assist with planting, garden care, and occasional arborist duties as trained.
• Adapt to additional duties as needed to support Westerner Park’s operations.
