General Manager – Marketing and Ecommerce Growth

About the role

HoopStars, a Toronto‑based youth basketball business, is seeking a hands‑on General Manager to drive marketing, ecommerce and profitable growth while also building the parent company’s marketing team.

Key responsibilities

• Own HoopStars’ business plan, budget, revenue, profitability and cash forecasts.
• Lead sales and operations to ensure programmes, coaches, venues and service quality keep pace with demand.
• Drive digital growth through paid search, social, creative, landing pages, enrollment funnels, pricing, offers, referrals and retention.
• Define, recruit and manage the parent‑company marketing team across multiple brands.
• Connect campaign performance to paying customers, repeat enrollment and contribution profit, allocating marketing investment based on reliable reporting and testing.

Required profile

• Proven track record building ecommerce businesses or leading growth for consumer brands.
• Experience with commercial responsibility beyond a marketing budget, including pricing, margins, staffing and profitability forecasts.
• Demonstrated ability to hire and manage marketers, creatives, agencies or other specialists.
• Strong professional English and effective remote leadership skills.
